About the Lunar New Year
Also known as the Spring Fesival, the Lunar New Year starts on the first day of the first Chinese month. It is celebrated throughout Asia with ceremonies and parades, festivals and firework.
Clean your house to eliminate the bad luck of the past, put up red good luck talismans and feed the Kitchen god. But do not sweep the house, or you will brush out the luck you have accumulated.
Tradition holds that whatever occurs on the first day of the Lunar Year will happen for the rest of the year. So pay your debts, visit friends and give gifts to the needy. But don't be angry or sad, and don't do anything bad. For a good year, smile, laugh, be kind to everyone you meet and practice, tai chi, chi kung and meditation.
